Project Funding

The project is purely funded from external funding for specific aspects of the project as outlined below:

Learning and Teaching Scotland - funding to undertake a project entitled Real and Relevant – Information and Critical Literacy Skills for the 21st Century Learner’ (Early and First Level) to work with the Curriculum for Excellence Literacy Team to create a quality CPD Information Literacy resource pack whose target audience will be Early Years (primary 1-2).

Esmée Fairbairn Foundation, one of the UK's largest independent grant making foundations, to support the work of the Scottish Information Literacy Project until September 2009. The money will be used to pursue key objectives of the Project's work.

Learning and Teaching Scotland - funding to undertake a project entitled Adding value to LTS Information Literacy Online Service:  Exemplars of good practice.

The British Academy - the role of information literacy in the workplace: an exploratory qualitative study.

CSG IL Group made a contribution to the funding for John Crawford to attend the (US) National Forum on Information Literacy in October 2007 and give a presention on the project work and to learn more about the US experience of advocacy.

Learning and Teaching Scotland - funding to support a small interview based research project on the impact of information literacy in the workplace. The research project findings will be made available to teachers via the NGfL (National Grid for Learning) research information for teachers as part of their continuing professional development (CPD).

Eduserv - funding to develop a national information literacy framework plus further funding to pilot the draft information literacy framework.

learndirect scotland - contribution to the funding of a national information literacy framework and funding to develop an Information Literacy learning principles paper for learndirect scotland's branded learning centres Learning Principles Toolkit and a subsequent Masterclass.
