NHS Scotland information literacy competency framework

NHS Scotland has produced a Framework based on an NHS information literacy model and includes a series of scenarios which involves a combination of practicioners and patients. Following a piloting exercise the framework has been divided into a series of eight A5 size booklets . Each booklet is relevant to a specific information area or interest group.

In addition to the Framework, they also produced online information literacy courses that was available at www.infoskills.scot.nhs.uk but does not appear to be there naylonger. A third tool they developed was the information literacy portal at www.infoliteracy.scot.nhs.uk/

Update Feb 2013 - unfortunately the project officer who created the framework and the material have been moved off the project and is now working on other matters. However the resources are still valuable so have a look.
